RE: Need info FAST! Best route to DFW coming from the south

Thanks to all...yes, we got rebooked from a Houston flight to a Dallas flight, so are taking a Dallas flight. THink we'll do the I-35W to 20, etc. from the map. Have to park the car at a Parking Spot (or something to that effect.)
Appreciate the help since this is last minute, but I knew I could count on our RVing buddies to give us the info we needed!

Need info FAST! Best route to DFW coming from the south

Should we take I-35W or I-35 E? which "smaller road" off it is the best. My mapping program is sending me on roads I'm not sure about.
Thanks...Jan

RE: OR 20 Burns to ID/OR border...OK for 40' RV?

Thanks, everyone...just did the drive...beautiful! Lots of wildflowers today.
"jabbott"...we've been to that area before...in fact had a flat tire on the road around the NWR.
Stayed at the Burns RV park on the east side...been there before and have liked it. Only 3 50amp pullthroughs, so you'd better always reserve.
Thanks for the advice, everyone...Jan

From I-80: South on 83 or 283 heading to Austin, TX?

We're leaving OR on Thursday (June 5) heading ultimately to Austin, TX. Depending on weather we plan to take I-84 to I-80 and see we have two alternative routes to avoid I-35 Dallas area to use either 83 or 283 to Abilene area, then do I-20 east until 281 (west of Dallas) and use that to continue south to our destination north of Austin.
Any preference of 83 over 283? Any suggestions for this route?
Traveling in a 40' motorhome towing a Jeep.
Thanks...Jan

RE: Route 3 from Surrey to drop down to ID or MT in 40' ?

Thanks, everyone...so much info! We've decided we'll drop back into the states on I-5, then take 20 to Route 2...haven't taken route 20 before, so that will be different. Many thanks for the info. Since we have only a Pac Brake, we'll take the advice and not do the hill climbs...and downs.
Safe travels all...Jan

Route 3 from Surrey to drop down to ID or MT in 40' ?

We'll be at Peace Arch RV Park in Surrey and want to head to Kalispell or Yellowstone area in June (en route to TX ultimately) and haven't taken Route 3 along the southern border of Canada. Please give me advice as to how that routing will be with a 40 foot motorhome, towing a Jeep. We can't take a lot of time...in a time crunch to get to TX, but wanted to do a different route.

Anyone using Mac with Final Cut Express?

My husband's having problems with Final Cut Express HD working with his Apple MacBook Pro. We've exhausted the help with Apple, so thought some of the "techies" here might be using the combination and might offer new suggestions. The 'puter hangs constantly when using FCE. We've uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. I'm getting ready to wipe the drive clean and reinstall Ox 10.4. He uses it for editing our travel HD videos, so this is frustrating. It worked fine for a few months, but now get the dreaded bouncing beachball all the time.

RE: DirecTV: HD E/W feeds for networks?

They told me it was for some gov't regulations that they couldn't give us both...thought she didn't know anything, but sounds like we're all in the same boat. Thanks for the info. Jan

DirecTV: HD E/W feeds for networks?

Is anyone able to get BOTH East and West HD feeds for the networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) on DirecTV if they are fulltiming? I have the E/W feeds on "normal" mode, but for HD only get the E feeds. They (DirecTV) say I can't have them both. I'm paying the extra for the new HD service and have all the upgraded equipment. Weird.
